at Missouri State Parks
An exciting astronomical event is coming to Missouri! We invite you to celebrate the 2024 total eclipse on Monday, April 8, in a state park or historic site in the southeast region of the state. There are 20 state parks and historic sites where you can see the 2024 total eclipse, as indicated by the shadow on the map below. More information about these locations is provided in Table 1 below.
You will also have the opportunity to experience a partial solar eclipse at all other facilities in Missouri's state park system. At these locations, the portion of the sun covered by the moon will range from 84.9% to nearly 100%, depending on the region. See Table 2 for more information.
It will be another 20 years – Aug. 23, 2044 – before the next total solar eclipse will be seen from the contiguous United States, so you won't want to miss this exciting event! Read on for more on where and when you can experience it.
