The Pittsburg area features a full-service marina, beach, shelter house, a picnic area and trails. The Hermitage area amenities include a large beach, a picnic area and trails. Park stores, which sell camping supplies, are located in both areas of the park.

You are now able to reserve your Missouri State Parks campsite up to 12 months in advance, expanding from the previous six-month window. **Loops 200 and 300 are only open March through November.

For a $5 fee, non-campers may use a vacant electric campsite for the purpose of charging their electric vehicle for a period not to exceed one hour.

Important Camping Information:
  • The campgrounds are fully reservable. Reservable sites may be available on a walk-up registration basis if the site is not reserved.
  • The dump station, showerhouse and water are turned off during the off-season (November through March). A frost-free spigot is available near the entrance of the Pittsburg Area Campground.
  • Before occupying a site, check with the park staff or follow the directions on the posted card or signs.
  • Campers planning to carry in firewood must comply with current firewood advisories.
  • Parking of watercraft or all-terrain vehicle (ATV) trailers off of the campsite pad (usually in the grass) is permitted at this facility.
  • Camping is limited to any 15 days within a 30-consecutive-day period at any one park or historic site.
