at Wallace State Park

A paved kiosk provides a map and information on Missouri’s state parks.

Accessible SymbolPark Office

Located near the park entrance, the office has a signed parking space near the door entrance. The parking space is paved and the door is ADA compliant. Inside the office, you can obtain park information and reserve picnic shelters. A brochure box is located outside.

Accessible SymbolDay-Use Area

An accessible picnic site is located between the park’s entrance gate and the enclosed shelter. It has a signed parking space, paved path, water hydrant, extended-end table and group grill.

A second accessible picnic site is located near the playground, past the enclosed shelter. It provides a signed parking space, paved path, water hydrant, extended-end table and a pedestal grill.

Accessible SymbolEnclosed Picnic Shelter

The shelter and outside patio are accessible. On the patio, there are an accessible water fountain, a group grill and seven picnic tables, including one extended-end table. The shelter has an accessible entrance and door. Inside the shelter, the refrigerator, stove, sink and counters are accessible. The shelter has heat and air conditioning. The building has seven folding tables and 40 stackable chairs. The maximum occupancy is 40 people inside and 35 people on the patio.

An accessible vault toilet is located off the parking lot and provides a signed parking space, a paved pathway and an accessible water hydrant.

Open Shelter

This shelter has not been modified. Paved parking has a slope of 4.3% with a 3.5% cross-slope. A gravel path leads to the shelter, which provides a group grill, one extended-end picnic table and seven standard picnic tables, two electrical outlets and a water fountain. The maximum occupancy for the shelter is 50 people. A rough asphalt path with a 7% slope leads to a vault toilet near the building.

Lake Allaman Area

At this time, no modifications have been made for fishing.

Accessible SymbolCampground

Campground 1

Campground 1 provides two accessible basic campsites tucked in among the trees. The tent areas are natural turf. Both campsites provide an extended-end table, pedestal grill, fire ring and lantern post. An accessible vault toilet is centrally located in this campground and has a paved path and accessible water hydrant. There are three additional accessible water hydrants in this campground.

Campground 2

Campground 2 has two accessible campsites. One is a pull through, and one is a back-in campsite. Both are partly sunny and have extended end tables, a fire ring and a grill. There are three accessible water hydrants in this campground. The showerhouse is located nearby.

Campground 3

Campground 3 has not been modified. There is one accessible water hydrant in this campground.

Campground 4

Campground 4 provides one accessible electric campsite with an extended-end table, pedestal grill and fire ring. The nearby vault toilet has a paved pathway, but 6 feet of the path is of an excessive slope. The entry pad provides 4 feet clearance in front of the doors. There are two accessible water hydrants in this campground.

Campground Showerhouse

The showerhouse has one signed parking space on a mostly level lot, which allows easy access to the entrance. Here you’ll find side-transfer toilets, roll-in showers with grab bars, accessible lavatories with lowered mirrors and electric hand dryers. There is an accessible information kiosk outside the building.

Check Station

The check station, where campers register and purchase firewood, is located adjacent to the showerhouse and shares the same parking lot. The registration area is accessible and provides a brochure box. The check station has its on-season hours of operation posted and emergency contact information. During the off-season, campers self-register here using the honor camping system envelopes and drop box. Procedures are posted.

Woodlot

The woodlot is open for sales during posted check station hours in the on-season. Access is on gravel. Assistance is provided during operating hours. Off-season firewood sales and procedures are posted.

Amphitheater

The amphitheater is located in Loop 2 and has a wood chip pathway with a slight slope. Wheelchair seating is available where the path enters the clearing. The playground, adjacent to the amphitheater entrance, has a paved path with a shady seating area. The base material, at this time, is sand. 

Dump Station

The dump station is located behind the showerhouse and is considered barrier-free. A fresh water hydrant is available.

Special-Use Area

No modifications have been made. There are three, mostly level camping areas, each with a large gravel pad with picnic tables, a firering, a group grill, a water hydrant and a vault toilet. 

Trails

Trails are across rough terrain and are not accessible.
