Due to a managed deer hunt at the park, special-use camping will not be available at Thousand Hills State Park Dec. 6, 7 or 8, 2024, and reservations for any of these dates will not be accepted.
The special-use camping area is designated for group camping, with nonprofit organizations and youth groups having priority. The total capacity of the special-use area is 100. The site is equipped with a fire ring and picnic tables. Potable water and a portable toilet are available in this area during the on-season. The showerhouse is located in Campground 2, approximately one-tenth of a mile from the special-use area.
The fee for use of the area is $2 per person, per night. For more information or to reserve the area for your group, call 660-665-6995.
