[Virtual] Landing After Hours: Nick Cave, Soundsuits and More

10/6/2021 | Missouri State Museum | Jefferson City, MO

Nick Cave, a contemporary artist and educator, was born in Fulton and grew up in Columbia, Missouri. He is primarily known for his Soundsuits, wearable sculptures meant to obscure the race, gender, class and physical characteristics of the wearer. Materials used to create the suits make noise as the wearer moves, adding a performative element to Cave's designs. Cave also uses his art to promote social change in his community and the world.

Join us on Facebook Live for a virtual presentation and discussion as Dr. Sarah S. Jones, art historian at the Missouri State Museum, presents an overview of Cave's biography and career as part of our Landing After Hours series.
