3/21/2020 | Current River State Park | Salem, MO
This event has been canceled.
For thousands of years, humans have been making animal calls as a way to hunt. There is a wide range of calls. How they are made and how they are used varies greatly. Everything from your mouth to your phone can be used as a call.
As part of our Ozark Heritage Classes, park staff will teach participants how to make a "memory turkey call." This will be a pot call with a glass inlay that you will insert a picture into, making it a “memory call” – just in time to use it for spring turkey season.
Class is limited to 25 people. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Please bring snacks or a sack lunch and a picture that you will be cutting into a 3-inch circle. All other supplies will be provided. For more information or to register, contact Connie Weber by phone at 573-751-1224 or email connie.weber@dnr.mo.gov.
