Fall is nearly upon us, and the prairie is reaching its full height. Some grasses and wildflowers reach more than 8 feet tall. It would be possible to overlook a bison in such vegetation. The asters and goldenrods are apparent. Come out for a guided bison hike. Don't forget your cameras! Be prepared for a 2-mile hike over uneven terrain. Bringing water, snacks, a hat and sunscreen, and wearing sturdy shoes is recommended. Binoculars will be useful in looking at bison as well as other wildlife that we may see. Dress for the weather; but shorts are not recommended.
Preregistration is required. Please call 417-843-6711 for additional information and to register.
