10/14/2017 to 10/15/2017 | Mark Twain State Park | Florida, MO
Quilts will wind their way through the Mark Twain Birthplace State Historic Site museum's two galleries, past the newly renovated exhibits. This year's theme is "One Hundred Years of Missouri State Parks." A quilt challenge is being issued for quilts (in any size) to mark the Missouri State Parks Centennial in 2017. Do you have a favorite state park or state historic site? Make a quilt in its honor for the show, or just a quilt showing your love for Missouri's outdoors! Other quilt categories will include holiday quilts and baby quilts, and, since 2017 also marks the centennial of America’s entry into World War I, quilts memorializing that “war to end all wars.”
The quilts will be judged in each category and prizes awarded. Visitors can browse the offerings of quilt and fabric-related vendors outdoors and enjoy lunch under the trees on the lovely museum grounds; food vendors will be available as well. Live presentations will be offered daily, and a quilt appraiser may be available if enough interest is shown. Admission to the quilt show and presentations is free, but donations will be accepted. The historic site hosts this event along with the Monroe County Historical Society.
Show times:
- Saturday: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
