Spider Sniff

9/13/2024 | Prairie State Park | Mindenmines, MO

Right about now, you're probably asking, “What in the world is a spider sniff?” To find out, come join us for this fun and educational evening program where you'll not only have a great time, but will also get a chance to become a member of ... (stops to look around, then in a very whispered voice) ... a very secret society of spider sniffers!

Bring a small, lightweight flashlight, and meet at the picnic area to learn more about spider sniffing.

This class is free, open to the public, and designed for all ages. Class size is limited to 35, and registration is required. To register, call the park at 417-843-6711. Participants must be registered by Sept. 6.

Due to the unique and rare diversity of life preserved at Prairie State Park, pets are not allowed on park trails, EXCEPT for Path of the Earth People and Path of the Sky People. Bison graze freely in the park, and this regulation protects both you and your pet. You are welcome to bring your pet to the park's campground and picnic area, but you must follow Missouri State Parks' pet rules. This applies to all types of pets except service animals assisting people with disabilities.

Event time: 7 p.m. - 8 p.m.
