First appearing on a survey map in 1894, today it is one of only a handful of the original Missouri River Commission Markers exist. |

Weston Bend: Pensineau Cellar On this episode of "Missouri Untold," outreach specialist Melissa Simmons explores the Pensineau Cellar built in the early 1830s by a French Canadian fur trader named Pensineau who established a tavern and trading house in what is now Weston Bend State Park. He provided goods and services to the soldiers at Fort Leavenworth and the American Indians in the area, using the cellar to store large quantities of commercial goods. |
