Contact Station Complex
The parking lot is gravel. The contact station is accessible via an entrance ramp on the north side of the building. This ramp is railed and provides a spacious deck at the entrance. Inside, you will find a lobby with restrooms to the right, a small gift shop to the left, and interpretive displays straight ahead.
A concrete path extends east past the contact station to the site’s shelter and restroom. The restroom complex provides side-transfer toilets, accessible lavatories and a water fountain.
Nathan and Olive Boone Home and Historic Area
A hard-packed gravel path (approximately 0.25 mile) leads to the Boone family cemetery and the African American cemetery, and ends near the Boone home. The home is accessible via a ramp on the west side of the building.
Interpretive tours begin in the contact station. Arrangements can be made for parking closer to the home; however, access to the home from this parking is not necessarily wheelchair accessible. For those unable to take the tour, photos of the home are available in the contact station.
Picnic Shelter
The picnic shelter is accessible via a concrete sidewalk from the contact station. The shelter features one extended-end picnic table and a concrete floor, and is connected via a concrete walkway to the site’s restrooms and water fountain. The capacity is 50 people.
