Picnic Areas

at Lewis and Clark State Park

Enjoy a picnic lunch at one of the numerous picnic tables with grills scattered along the lake's shoreline in the shade of stately cottonwood, sycamore and walnut trees.

For larger gatherings, you can reserve the open picnic shelter, which was built in the 1930s by the Civilian Conservation Corps. This shelter, which has electricity, can be reserved for $45 per day. To reserve the shelter, contact the park to check for availability by calling 816-579-5564. If available, fill out the Shelter Reservation Application and mail it to the park for approval. Submission of this application does not guarantee reservation of the shelter.

The day-use area offers fishing, an open shelter house, modern restrooms, picnic areas and playground equipment.
