Landing After Hours: Mark Twain and His Amazing Friends

Mark Twain is well known not just in Missouri, but throughout the world as an author and humorist. However, it may come as a surprise to learn how well connected he was to many other well-known figures from his time. In this program, we'll explore some of his famous friendships. We'll especially focus on his relationships with Helen Keller, Frederick Douglass, Nikola Tesla, P. T. Barnum, Harriet Beecher Stowe and Ulysses S. Grant.

The Missouri State Museum's Landing After Hours program is held the first Wednesday of each month at the Jefferson Landing State Historic Site, located at 100 Jefferson St. Doors to the site’s Lohman Building open at 6:30 p.m., and the program begins at 7 p.m. Convenient parking is available in the lot next to the Lohman Building.
