Canceled: First Day Hike

1/1/2022 | Big Sugar Creek State Park | Pineville, MO

This event has been canceled.

Join us as we celebrate a new year in nature! The park staff will lead a strenuous 3-mile hike on Ozark Chinquapin Trail at Big Sugar Creek State Park on New Year's Day as part of America's State Parks First Day Hikes initiative. First Day Hikes offer a great way to get outside, exercise, enjoy nature, and welcome the new year with friends and family. Meet at the Ozark Chinquapin Trailhead at 9 a.m. This trail is known to have water on several creek crossings during wet weather. Waterproof boots are strongly recommended.

This event is free and open to everyone ages 5 and up. Please dress for the weather, wear closed-toe shoes, and bring water and snacks. For more information or to check the status of the hike, contact the Ozark Chinquapin Nature Center at 417-847-3742.

Registration for this event is required, and a sign-up link will be available here: https://icampmo1.usedirect.com/MSPWeb/Activities/Search.aspx

Hike Time: 9 a.m. - noon
