Missouri Bicentennial Weekend

Washington State Park is commemorating Missouri's bicentennial year! Join staff for programs and a viewing of the Missouri State Parks Commemorative Bicentennial Quilt! Missouri State Parks staff and volunteers worked to create a quilt representing each Missouri state park and historic site. This quilt will be on display at Thunderbird Lodge on both Saturday, July 24 and Sunday, July 25, from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m.

Also on Saturday, July 24, park interpretive staff will lead a guided tour at the petroglyph site at 2 p.m. Then, they will present a “Life in the 1800s” living history activity and display the Bicentennial Quilt from 6 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at the campground amphitheater.

Activities Schedule

Saturday, July 24

  • 8 a.m.-5 p.m. – Bicentennial Quilt display at Thunderbird Lodge.
  • 2 p.m.-3 p.m. – petroglyph tour at petroglyph site.
  • 6 p.m.-7:30 p.m. – “Life in the 1800s” living history activity and Bicentennial Quilt display at campground amphitheater.

Sunday, July 25

  • 8 a.m.-5 p.m. – Bicentennial Quilt display at Thunderbird Lodge.
