Join the staff at the Regal Tallgrass Prairie Nature Center in Prairie State Park on June 12 for our 10th Hug a Herp Day!
What are "herps," you say? Herpetology is the study of reptiles and amphibians. It is often shortened to “herp”! Come and see various reptiles and amphibians like snakes, turtles, lizards, frogs, toads and salamanders. This event will help dispel myths and rumors about reptiles and amphibians. It will also give people a chance to see and touch some up close. Make an amphibian or reptile craft to take home with you! Stay for a while or all day.
Pets are not permitted on the trails at Prairie State Park. Face masks are recommended when social distancing is not feasible.
