First Day Bison Hike

1/1/2020 | Prairie State Park | Mindenmines, MO

Join us as we celebrate the New Year in nature! A naturalist will lead our First Day Bison Hike at Prairie State Park at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan 1. We will meet at the park’s Regal Tallgrass Prairie Nature Center. Visitors should be prepared for a 2-mile hike over uneven terrain in winter conditions.

Since we won’t know the location of the bison until that morning, bringing water, snacks, and wearing sturdy footwear is recommended. The wind can be quite brutal at this time of year, so be sure to dress accordingly. Refreshments will be provided following the hike.

Due to the popularity of our bison hikes, registration is required. To register, please call 417-843-6711 or click here.

Hike Time: 1 p.m. - 3 p.m. | Regall Tallgrass Prairie Nature Center

First Day Hikes are promoted by America’s State Parks, and you will be joining hikers from all 50 states. Click here to view more First Day Hikes at Missouri State Parks.
