Landing After Hours: Just Around the Pointe of Courage and Determination

1/8/2020 | Missouri State Museum | Jefferson City, MO

Traci Martin, an accomplished Missouri kayaker, who as a solo female twice won the grueling MR340 race from Kansas City to St. Charles, will speak about her world record attempt at paddling all five Great Lakes in a single year. In 2017, Martin became the first individual to circumnavigate three Great Lakes (Michigan, Superior and Huron) in a single year. She has rheumatoid arthritis and used her journey to advocate for those with chronic illnesses. You can also see “Bettina,” her expedition kayak!

The Missouri State Museum's "Landing After Hours" program is held the first Wednesday of each month at the Jefferson Landing State Historic Site, 100 Jefferson St. The Lohman Museum will be open from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., and the program will start at 7 p.m. Convenient parking is available in the lot next to the Lohman Building.
