Elephant Rocks Photography Show

12/1/2019 to 1/2/2020 | Elephant Rocks State Park | Belleview, MO

Missouri State Parks is proud to host a special showing of original photographs, as part of our ongoing winter Artist Spotlight program. Battle of Pilot Knob State Historic Site and Elephant Rocks State Park will host a show featuring images of Elephant Rocks by photographer Tyler Schlitt.

This show will be available to the public free of charge in the historic site museum, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., for the entire month of December, except for Mondays. This event will begin with an opening night reception from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 30.

About the Artist

Tyler Schlitt's passion for photography started when he got his first camera as a gift; he then quickly fell in love with storm chasing and photographing storm scapes.

He is currently working on finishing up his spring, summer and fall review video of the year. In the last year, he photographed the Milky Way and meteors over Elephant Rocks. More recently, he has been working on fall colors and sunsets; he will photograph another meteor shower in December.

Schlitt travels two hours to spend time at Elephant Rocks. He says there's always something new and unique about the rocks every time he visits. He enjoys being at the park right around sunset to enjoy the peace and watch as the sun sets for the day.

The museum will have Schlitt’s series of photographs highlighting the unmatched beauty of the geological wonder that is Elephant Rocks State Park. To view examples of Schlitt’s spectacular work, visit tylerschlitt.com. For more information about this event, call 573-546-3454.
