To survive the winter, Missouri’s early settlers had to find creative ways to stretch their fall harvest – from burying eggs in sawdust to making cubes of stew. Join us to learn about the ingenious, the weird and the downright gross ways food was preserved in the 19^th century. Visitors will be able to pickle their own vegetables to bring home, while supplies last.
