Come out to Hunter-Dawson Cemetery and meet some of New Madrid’s most interesting former residents. We will introduce you to George Washington Dawson, who was a Confederate officer in the Civil War and died of disease; Robert Goah Watson, an early pioneer in New Madrid who was killed in a land dispute; and many more.
Hunter-Dawson Cemetery is located on the corner of St. Isadore and St. Paul streets in New Madrid.
