10/27/2018 | Battle of Lexington State Historic Site | Lexington, MO
Stories of the Civil War often center around the battlefield, but what about the hospitals where the wounded were given care? This important aspect of the Civil War will be portrayed at the Anderson House. Candlelight Hospital Tours are sponsored by Missouri State Parks, the Missouri Medical Brigade and Lexington Tourism Commission.
The Anderson House served as a hospital for the Federal troops during the 1861 Battle of Lexington. Experience what life was like for the wounded in make-shift hospitals. The candlelight tours will feature re-created scenes of doctors performing surgeries, women tending the wounded and soldiers planning their next move. Due to the nature of the event, it is not recommended for children under the age of 9.
A limited number of tickets are available for this event and must be purchased in advance. Tickets are $15. Included in the tour is a guided trolley tour.
Parking for the event will be behind the buildings on 10th and Main streets in downtown Lexington. Tickets will be available for purchase on Oct. 1, 2018.
