Victorian Mourning Practices

Come to the historic site to learn about Victorian mourning. The formal parlors with curtains drawn and black fabric covering mirrors will be astonishing to see. Post mortem photographs will be on display along with clothing worn while in mourning. A program explaining these practices will be held at regular tour rates. The house will remain in mourning throughout November during normal tour hours and regular tour rates will apply. Click here to read the news release.
