Halloween Spooktacular

10/21/2017 | Cuivre River State Park | Troy, MO

Mark your calendars for the Cuivre River Halloween Spooktacular! This year's Spooktacular theme is “Cuivre's Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.” The fun begins as your family takes a quiz to determine what house you will be sorted into (Gryffindor, the "Fantastic Bugs;" Ravenclaw, the "Fantastic Flyers;" Hufflepuff, the "Fantastic Mammals;" or Slytherin, the "Fantastic Creepy Crawlers"). The Sorting Ceremony will take place after you visit the "Owlery" and watch our friends from Raptor Rehabilitation Project provide a program featuring live owls and other birds of prey.

After the Sorting Ceremony, your house Prefect will lead you on an adventure to learn about all of Cuivre's fantastic creatures featured in each house. You will meet at least one fantastic creature at each stop (guaranteed to make you laugh!), and see live creatures up close. Along the way, you will make your very own Cuivre Fantastic Beasts booklet and earn your own "Cuivrezoologist" pin with your house name on it! All activities will take place at the beach. Halloween costumes are encouraged!

Afterwards, in the campground, there will be trick or treating and a campsite decorating contest for registered campers. Prizes will be awarded for the top decorated campsite in the basic loop and the electric loops! Small prizes will also be awarded for best costumes (adults too, but please keep it family-friendly).
