Hellbender Program

5/20/2017 | Bennett Spring State Park | Lebanon, MO

Park staff will present a program on the endangered aquatic salamander called a hellbender.  Bennett Spring flows into the Niangua River in which this aquatic night feeding animal is being reintroduced.  Participants will learn more about their habitat and see photos of this species being spawned, grown and released by the Missouri Department of Conservation’s Shephard of the Hills Fish Hatchery staff.
