Meteor Program- Campground Amphitheater
Join park staff for a program on meteors, meteorites and comets. Then, create your own edible meteorite for a snack prior to the meteor shower viewing.
10 p.m.
Meteor Shower Viewing - Thunderbird Lodge Parking Lot
Join park staff for a very special open sky view of the Perseid meteor shower! No special equipment is needed. Bring a comfortable chair or blanket and enjoy the show in the night sky. This event will last for two hours.

Petroglyph Glade Tour - Petroglyph Site
This guided interpretive walk highlights two of Washington State Park’s unique features. The walk begins with a tour of the ancient Native American rock carvings and will then venture out into to the glade, where visitors will learn about life on this unique landscape.
2 p.m.
Naturalist Hour - Picnic Table near Campground Host Site
Join park naturalist staff for the Naturalist Hour! Participate in activities, learn about the park's natural history, view critters or work on earning your Missouri State Parks and Historic Sites Explorer patch. Stop by and see what the naturalist has to share.
4 p.m.
River Bottom Walk - Thunderbird Lodge
This short hike along the 1,000 Step Trail will give guests the chance to view a wide variety of plant life and learn about the history of Washington State Park and the young men who built it. The walk will then lead guests along the edge of the Big River to learn just how important this body of water is to the area around it.
All events last approximately one hour (except the meteor shower viewing), are weather permitting and are subject to change.
