Come enjoy the night skies at the park! The evening will kick off with a “virtual tour” of the Earth’s orbit with a fun, interpretive program at the visitor center. Then ,members of the St. Louis Astronomical Society (SLAS) will set up telescopes at the monument area for viewing the sky. SLAS members will offer instruction on how to identify the Big Dipper, the North Star and constellations such as Leo the lion, Corvus the crow and Hydra the snake. The moon, Saturn, Jupiter and Venus will also be viewed through telescopes. You are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets and binoculars. If you have a telescope, bring that as well.
