Explorer Day Camp - Fun in the Creek

6/25/2015 | Sam A. Baker State Park | Patterson, MO

Sam A. Baker State Park is proud to present its inaugural Explorer Day Camp. This free event is for kid’s ages 6 and older who love nature and are eager to earn their Missouri State Parks Explorer patch. Whether you are currently participating in Explorer activities or interested in getting started, this will be an awesome experience for all.

Big Creek at Sam A. Baker State Park is considered one of the main attractions, providing opportunities to swim, fish or just explore; searching for whatever calls Big Creek home. If you enjoy playing around in the water and discovering all there is to see in the life of a stream, then you will want to join us for a day on the creek.

Participants will learn all about the power of water by playing games and activities, decorating T-shirts, achieving the goals for becoming an explorer and more! Participants will need to bring sunscreen, insect repellent, a T-shirt to decorate, drinking water, sturdy shoes and clothes for getting wet. Snacks will be provided; however, you will need to bring your own lunch. At least one adult is required to attend the event with the child(ren), and all participants must join in all activities in order to receive their Explorer patch.

Registration is required by June 23. For more information or to register, contact the park naturalist at 573-856-4514.
