This concert will feature local bluegrass musician Leevon DeCourley, who grew up in a rural area of southeast Missouri, near the town of Arab. DeCourley recently graduated from Southeast Missouri State University with a degree in mass communications and a minor in music. You can catch DeCourley weekdays from noon until 2 p.m. on Pure Country C106.1 radio. When not on the air, you can usually find him on the road performing. In October 2010, he joined Tommy Brown and the County Line Grass out of Mt. Washington Kentucky as mandolin player but moved to uprigtht bass the following summer. He also plays mandolin with the Justin Heskett Band out of the Bootheel of Missouri. Leevon got his bluegrass start playing with southeast Missouri groups Janie Brown and the Chestnut Mountain Gang and Jeff Hovis and the Castor River Boys. He also spent two years with the Men of the Week.
Please bring a lawn chair or blanket to sit on and enjoy some great bluegrass music at one of Missouri's finest historic treasures, Bollinger Mill State Historic Site.
