Remember how fun it was to be all together outside at sunset? Remember that magic moment when you put up that tent all by yourself? Remember how majestic the heavens looked the first time? Remember how tranquil reading under the stars felt? Remember that feeling when you crawled into your tent for the night?
If you do, then join us for a day exploring the park by hiking one of the many trails, checking out the visitor center or participating in the park's scavenger hunt! Then, join the park naturalist at the Mississippi River campground at 7:30 p.m. as history unfolds about the past and present surrounding the Mighty Mississippi River. Go on a short walk under the night sky to listen for hooting owls, wind in the trees and other night sounds. Afterward, enjoy traditional and nontraditional s’mores around a campfire while listening to tales about ole’ Man River. Top off the evening by looking at the starry skies to wish upon a star and enjoying the calm and quiet before heading off to bed!
