Cuivre River State Park's Halloween Spooktacular features an exciting event called Space Wars – a quest to train the next generation of protectors of nature. Our wild places are being invaded, and we need your help! Visitors will learn from the masters of protecting nature and will complete challenges that will teach them valuable skills all nature protectors need. Participants will train with a light sword, learn fire starting, defeat alien plants, visit the Nature Café for a snack, and more.
This event will take place at Camp Sherwood in Cuivre River State Park. The event is free and appropriate for all ages. Space is limited, and registration is required. Timed entry is required: Visitors will register to enter at either 10 a.m. or noon. To register, click here and search for events at Cuivre River State Park.
Registered campers will enjoy an evening of trick-or-treating in the campground, a campsite decorating contest, and a costume contest. Trick-or-treating will begin at 5 p.m. and will be followed by the costume contest at 7 p.m. Age groups for the costume contest will be 0-5 years, 6-11 years, 12-17 years, and 18 years and up. Campsite decorating contest winners will be announced after the costume contest, and there will be one winner for each type of campsite: basic, electric and full hookup.
