The historic site will be closed on Monday, Aug. 21 and will re-open under normal operating hours on Thursday, Aug. 24.
Missouri's American Indian Cultural Center will be open Monday, Aug. 21 from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. - 4 p.m.
While the Bank Branch Creek bridge on Route D is being replaced, visitors will need to access the park using Hwy 54 to Route D. This closure will not allow visitors to access the park from the south entrance that is accessed from Hwy 5 through at least mid-September 2017.
Due to the wet conditions, Opossum Hollow Trail is temporarily closed to bicyclists and McAdoo Trail temporarily closed to equestrian users. All trails are opened to hikers. Please be careful of debris, wet, or muddy areas of the trails.
We anticipate reopening the trails for normal use which includes equestrian and bicycling on Aug. 20.
The following areas will be closed part of the day on Aug. 21 for the solar eclipse event:
-- visitor center closed 11 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. (outer doors will remain open for restroom availability)
-- J. Huston Tavern closed 12 - 1:30 p.m.
These facilities will be open during normal operating hours the remainder of the day.
Due to a special event on Sat., Aug. 19 through Sun., Aug 20, the following areas will be temporarily closed to public use:
-- courtesy dock on the south shore of Ha Ha Tonka cove
-- fishing dock on the south shore of Ha Ha Tonka cove
-- kayak steps on the south shore of Ha Ha Tonka cove
The following areas will be closed beginning at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Aug 20 in preparation for an event:
-- parking at Veterans Memorial picnic area and Interpretive center
-- parking and access to the scenic overlook
-- parking and access to the petroglyph site
These areas will reopen for regular use on Aug. 22.
The Rocheport (MM 178.3) and North Jefferson (MM 143.2) trailheads will be closed from 8 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 20 through 6 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 22 to allow for the Total Eclipse of the Katy Trail bicycle ride.
The boardwalk/staircase on River Scene Trail will be closed Monday, Aug. 21 to avoid possible overload due to expected crowds for the eclipse.

Visitors on Aug. 21 are encouraged to refer to the map below when making their plans to visit the site.
Due to the solar eclipse, tours will not be offered on Monday, Aug. 21. Tours will resume under normal on-season operations on Tuesday, Aug. 22.
The boat launch next to the host site is temporarily closed until further notice. The boat launch at the end of the campground point remains open.
The fourth floor of Bollinger Mill will not be a part of the regular tour due to restoration work. Tours will still include the second and third floors of the mill.
