Garlic Mustard Workday

4/26/2024 | Mastodon State Historic Site | Imperial, MO

Calling all environmental superheroes: Help us save the park from invasive takeovers! Garlic mustard is an invasive species. It is not natural to the area, reproduces rapidly, and takes space and resources away from the plants that should be growing in this area. We need your help to knock it out!

Join us from 10 a.m. to noon to exterminate invasive garlic mustard found in the park. Volunteers will help pick garlic mustard – no spray or hand tools will be used, making this event appropriate for all ages. No experience? No worries! We'll teach you what you need to know.

This program will take place in the site's picnic area, located at 1800 Seckman Road in Imperial. Volunteers will meet by the playground. Participants should wear long pants and closed-toe shoes and bring work gloves and a water bottle.

Registration is required. To register, call the site office at 636-464-2976 or visit the event page on Better Impact. If you are registering online, you will need to click on "Fill in an application" in the top right.

Event time: 10 a.m. - noon
