Special Presentation: "Women of the Valley"

8/4/2023 | Battle of Pilot Knob State Historic Site | Pilot Knob, MO

Battle of Pilot Knob State Historic Site is proud to host a special presentation and artifact collection in August 2023. Jordan Cunieo, one of the site's interpreters, has been researching the lives of women in the Arcadia Valley during the Civil War. She has developed a special presentation detailing their daily lives and will share her findings during an Aug. 4 reception in the historic site's auditorium.

In conjunction with her research, Jordan has put together a collection of artifacts that will be on display throughout the month of August. This collection consists of letters and artifacts related to the daily life of women in the Arcadia Valley during the Civil War. These artifacts from the museum archives are rarely on display for the public, so this is a unique opportunity to view history in person.

Doors open at 6 p.m. for a reception and meet and greet with Jordan. The presentation will be at 6:30 p.m., followed by the unveiling of the artifact collection with explanations provided by Jordan from 7-8 p.m.
