Located off of Highway 32 adjacent to Missouri Mines State Historic Site, the range is managed by a certified range officer and is available for use by the public on designated days for a fee.  More information is available on the Mineral Area College’s website or the shooting range Facebook page.

The shooting range is named in honor of Sgt. Darrell S. Cole, a native of the Park Hills area whose interests included music, sports and hunting.  He served as a member of the Civilian Conservation Corps before joining the Marine Corps in 1941. He lost his life on Feb. 19, 1945, during the assault on Iwo Jima in the Volcano Islands.  His heroism in action resulted in the posthumous award of the Medal of Honor.
