Picnic Shelters

Enclosed Shelter

The Bee Creek Shelter, a converted tobacco barn, is an enclosed shelter that can accommodate up to 125 guests. It is an ideal location for hosting a large gathering or picnic.The shelter has tables and chairs, a refrigerator, and a microwave. It doesn’t have a stove/oven, a sink or inside running water, but it does have a frost-free hydrant. The shelter has new restrooms. This shelter must be reserved in advance by calling the park office.

Bee Creek Shelter fees effective Jan. 1, 2018:

  • Wedding rentals: $1,000, which includes half-day rental on Friday, full-day on Saturday and half-day on Sunday
  • All other groups: $200 per day

Open Shelter

Located in the day-use area is an open shelter with two large pedestal grills and picnic tables that can accommodate up to 50 guests. It has electricity, and there is a water spigot nearby. There are also restrooms near the shelter. The shelter may be reserved in advance. If not reserved, the open shelter is available on a first-come, first-served basis at no charge.

  • Open Shelter fee: $50

*Shelters can be reserved online from 30 days to 12 months in advance of the day of use. Reservations for arrival dates less than 30 days out can be made only by contacting the park.

A children's playground is located in the day-use area.
