at Watkins Mill State Park
You can rent a kayak any day of the week from April 15 to Oct. 31 at the campground check station. Rentals are available hourly (with a two-hour minimum) or as all-day rentals, on a first-come, first-served basis. Rental times are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., with the last rentals available at 4 p.m.
Upon arrival at the check station, renters will be issued life jackets and paddles according to the number and type of watercraft rented. No extra life jackets or paddles will be issued. Renters will also be provided a trash bag to use while on the lake.
A Watercraft Rental Agreement will be completed at the park, and a driver’s license will be obtained by the staff and kept until all rented equipment is returned.

- $20 for two-hour minimum
- $30 per day
Two-Person Kayaks
- $20 for two-hour minimum
- $35 per day
All-day rental required:
- Friday, Saturday, Sunday
- Memorial Day
- Fourth of July
Things to know:
- The appropriate number of paddles and life jackets will be issued at the check station for those using the watercraft.
- The lessee will be charged for lost or damaged rental equipment. Charges for this equipment will be valued at replacement cost of like items.
- Swimming is allowed only at the swim beach and not from the watercraft. Anyone violating this policy will be removed from the park.
- Parking and kayaks are located at the boat ramp parking lot area.
- Kayaks can be put into the lake at the sand ramp along the shore, downhill from the kayak shed.
- Transporting kayaks is not permitted outside of put-in, takeout and use on the lake.
- Kayaks will not be rented during stormy or severe weather.
