6/26/2021 | Nathan and Olive Boone Homestead State Historic Site | Ash Grove, MO
For nearly 40 years before the town of Ash Grove was founded, a small settlement thrived on the northern edge of present-day Ash Grove. The settlement survived and thrived on the unique natural resources of the area. Join Nathan and Olive Boone Homestead State Historic Site Superintendent Mike Busekrus for a 1.5-mile hike into a nearly forgotten piece of Missouri's frontier past as we celebrate Ash Grove's 150th birthday.
Hikes will depart from the porch of the Boone home at 9 a.m., 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Participants are encouraged to bring a water bottle, bug spray and sturdy footwear. Hikes may be postponed due to inclement weather; please call the site office at 417-751-3266 for the most up-to-date information.
