How much has hunting changed in 14,000 years? Join the park naturalist at the showerhouse in the campground to discover how our ancestors hunted and how their hunting methods compare to modern-day techniques. At the end of the program, you will have the chance to use an atlatl – a spear-throwing device ancient peoples used to hunt large ice age animals like mastodons.
Please bring a chair, water and insect repellent. You are encouraged to arrive early, as parking is limited in the campground and you might have to walk a short distance to the program location. This event is free and open to the public. For more information, call the park office at 636-528-7247.
