Signs are posted directing cars and trucks to park in the parking lot, while buses and RVs are directed to park along Pershing Drive in front of the site. A brick sidewalk with shaded benches surrounds the memorial to Pershing.
Visitor Center
An accessible ramp allows access to the visitor center. The entrance door is 30 inches wide. All tours start here.
Gen. John J. Pershing Boyhood Home
An accessible ramp allows access to the first floor of the home. The main floor is accessible. A stairway ascends to the second floor. A flip-book allows those unable to access stairs to view those rooms.
Prairie Mound School
This one-room school houses the site’s museum. A ramp leads to the front porch entrance. Accessible restrooms are provided with side-transfer toilets and lever-handled faucets.
Picnic Site
There is an accessible picnic table and grill off the parking area.
