2022 Finger Lakes Adventure Challenge logo2022 Event

The 2022 race marked another great Adventure Challenge. Following cancellations in 2020 and 2021, the 2022 event saw a great turnout. Participants were back on the original course, paddling on Peabody Lake and running on Kelley Branch Mountain Bike Trail. Participants who completed the race received medals, and the overall winners received awards. The event was followed by Finger Lakes' annual public meeting.

2019 Adventure Challenge2019 Event

The fourth annual Finger Lakes Adventure Challenge was held on Sept. 14. The event featured a 5K paddling race on the park's water trail on Peabody Lake, followed by a 5K run on Kelley Branch Mountain Bike Trail. Refreshments were provided after the race, and all finishers received a participation medal.

Kayak and Trail Run

The third annual Finger Lakes Adventure Challenge, where participants' first challenge was to kayak the water course in Peabody Lake, was held Sept. 10. Participants completed a 5K paddle on the water trail that winds through the length of the park, then returned back to the start for a 5K run on Kelley Branch Mountain Bike Trail. The trail leads through the wetlands of Kelley Branch Creek then along the ridges and pits of the reclaimed strip mine.

Sept. 12

During the second annual Finger Lakes Adventure Challenge, the first challenge was to kayak the water course in Peabody Lake. Participants hopped in their boats for a 5K paddle on the water trail that winds through the length of the park. They then returned back to the start and took off on foot for a 5K run on Kelley Branch Mountain Bike Trail. The trail lead them through the wetlands of Kelley Branch Creek then along the ridges and pits of the reclaimed strip mine.

2014 Event

The 2014 Finger Lakes Adventure Challenge marked the start of the inaugural season for the Missouri State Parks Racing Series. Participants started by paddling the 4.5-mile water trail, then headed out on foot to trek the 2.75-mile Kelley Branch Mountain Bike Trail. Medals were given to the top three finishers in their age group, and overall medals were also awarded to the top three finishing male and females. Check out the photos below from this year’s race.
