Battle of Lexington State Historic Site is helping kick off the Lexington Community Fair with an owl prowl at the park on Aug. 10!
Join us at 7:30 p.m. in the visitor center to learn about the owls in our area and what makes them unique for hunting prey at night! After dusk, we will move the program outside for a short night hike to practice our owl calls and find out whooooo might be nearby!
The surface of the battlefield is uneven, so you are encouraged to wear walking or hiking shoes for the outside portion of the event. You may also want to bring a water bottle and wear a hat during the night hike. Bug spray will be available.
This event is free and open to the public. For more information, call the historic site office at 660-259-4654.
