The museum and visitor center is a great place to begin any visit to Mastodon State Historic Site. The center includes displays, artifacts, exhibits and an interpretive video that reveal the secrets of the Kimmswick Bone Bed and help visitors understand the significance of the site. The impressive mastodon skeleton replica is a sight not easily forgotten.
View a video that interprets the historic site. It is started every half hour during museum hours, with the last showing beginning 30 minutes prior to closing time. Reduced fees are available to groups of 15 or more who reserve a date and time in advance of their visit.
