Historical Children's Festival

5/20/2023 | First Missouri State Capitol State Historic Site | St. Charles, MO

In conjunction with National Kids to Parks Day, come celebrate and kick up your heels at First Missouri State Capitol State Historic Site during the return of the Historical Children's Festival. At this popular festival, you are invited to come live and play as children did in the 1820s and hear interesting stories about life in St. Charles when our first legislators were struggling to organize Missouri into statehood. Activities may include:
  • Quill pen writing
  • Candle dipping
  • Butter churning
  • Washboard and tub
  • Hearth cooking demonstration
  • 1820s games and toys
