Canceled: Stream Critters and Health

10/22/2022 | Rock Bridge Memorial State Park | Columbia, MO

This event has been canceled due to low stream flow.

Catch aquatic animals, conduct chemical tests to evaluate water quality, and check on the health of park streams as part of an ongoing citizen science project for the Bonne Femme Watershed. No prior training is necessary, as you will be placed with experienced Stream Team volunteers.

Participants should meet at the Devil’s Icebox parking lot and bring something to drink, along with weather-appropriate clothing and boots or water-safe shoes. Free sack lunches will be provided afterward for those who helped.

Registration is required and can be completed online at this link or by calling 573-886-4330.

This stream monitoring blitz is held each spring and fall and is co-sponsored by Rock Bridge Memorial State Park, Boone County Stormwater Management and Missouri Stream Teams. U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Region VII, through the Missouri Department of Natural Resources, has provided partial funding for this project under Section 319 of the Clean Water Act.
