Park Day

4/9/2022 | Battle of Lexington State Historic Site | Lexington, MO

Join the national movement led by the American Battlefield Trust to preserve Civil War battlefields and historic sites on April 9 at Battle of Lexington State Historic Site. Volunteers will meet at the visitor center and work from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in small groups to battle the invasive species threatening the site. Please dress comfortably to work outside in the elements.

If you would like to learn more about invasive species prior to Park Day, join us at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 2, for our Invasive Species Workshop. The workshop will start in the visitor center, focusing on common invasive species found around the site and the community and effective removal methods, and then continue outside for practice identifying invasive species and distinguishing then from beneficial native plant look-alikes. Please dress appropriately for the weather and for hiking around on the grounds.
