Since the pioneer days of the American Midwest, quilts have been a cornerstone of Missouri culture, fashion and tradition. In honor of our great state’s 200th year anniversary, Missouri State Parks staff and volunteers created the Missouri State Parks Bicentennial Quilts. The Graham Cave State Park block was designed by Montgomery County resident Linda Ann Eatherton. She writes: “Nestled in the hills above the Loutre River in Montgomery County, Graham Cave State Park features an unusual sandstone cave. Artifacts reveal that people occupied the cave 8000 to 10,000 years ago. Graham Cave State Park has 386 scenic acres and is a wonderful hiking location.”

As the Missouri State Parks Bicentennial Quilt travels statewide, Missourians have an opportunity to learn about the rich geographic and cultural diversity of the state. For more information about this event, please call Graham Cave State Park at 573-564-3476.
