Canceled: Fall Festival

10/3/2020 | Bollinger Mill State Historic Site | Burfordville, MO

This event has been canceled.

Bollinger Mill State Historic Site cordially invites you to attend the second annual Fall Festival. Missouri State Parks will sponsor special activities at the historic site this day. All activities will take place in the day-use area.

The festival will begin with a free scarecrow-building program at 10 a.m. Straw and twine will be provided. Participants should bring old overalls -- or suspenders and pants -- and long-sleeve shirts for their scarecrows. Preregistration is required for this activity.

At 2 p.m., there will be a free concert performed by the Whitewater Bluegrass Band. Please bring a lawn chair for seating. The Whitewater Bluegrass Band has members from the Cape Girardeau and Sikeston areas. The band plays traditional bluegrass and bluegrass gospel music with a little humor included. Members are Rodney Eftink, Shawn Asmus, Dan Reno, Kevin Sigman and George Dickerson. Instruments played include the mandolin, rhythm guitar, bass and banjo.

Throughout the day, visitors can see antique tractors and engines and view corn and wheat grinding demonstrations. Straight Line Swine BBQ and Nancy’s Fancy Kettle Corn of Cape Girardeau will both be at the site during the festival. They will be selling barbecue, kettle corn, beverages and other refreshments.

Festival Time: 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
