4/4/2020 | Prairie State Park | Mindenmines, MO
Out of caution, park and site events and programs sponsored by Missouri State Parks are postponed or canceled now through April 30. We’re closely monitoring the progression of COVID-19 and its effect in Missouri. We’re sorry for any inconvenience; however, your safety is our top priority.
As spring comes on in force, prairies wake from their winter slumber and the activity increases. Frogs are becoming more active, birds are singing, and flowers are bursting forth from the prairie sod. Come out to Prairie State Park on April 4 for a guided bison hike.
Be prepared for a 2-mile hike over uneven terrain. Bringing water, snacks, a hat and sunscreen, and wearing sturdy shoes is recommended. Binoculars will be useful for looking at bison as well as other wildlife that we may see. Be sure to dress for the weather - the prairie winds can be rather nasty this time of year. Don't forget your cameras!
Registration is required and limited to 50 people. Please call 417-843-6711 to register.
Hike Time: 10 a.m. - Noon
