First Day Hike - Coakley Hollow Fen Trail

1/1/2020 | Lake of the Ozarks State Park | Kaiser, MO

Begin the New Year with a First Day Hike at Lake of the Ozarks State Park. Nestled in the south side of the park, the Coakley Hollow Fen Natural Area boasts a large variety of natural communities and is one of our most ecologically diverse areas. Explore dolomite glades, fens, spring-fed streams and woodlands along Coakley Hollow Trail. Learn about these landscapes and the resources they have provided to inhabitants throughout the area’s rich history. The 1-mile loop will be followed by a short stroll to nearby Mill Spring.

Meet park staff at the Ozark Caverns Visitor Center, at 823 Ozark Caverns Rd., Linn Creek, MO 65052. The trail has a natural surface with moderate elevation changes, so be sure to wear sturdy, comfortable shoes. In the event of inclement weather, call 573-346-4516 for cancellation information.
